THE PLACE WHERE THE LITTLE BOOTS WONDER

In a charming town, a young boy named Colt discovers the joys of farm life with his loving family. From feeding chickens to learning about cows, Colt’s adventures on the farm create lasting memories filled with laughter, love, and life lessons.

Colt Downey, the newest little farmer, arrives on a sunny summer morning, welcomed by family from near and far. Growing up on his grandparents’ expansive farm, he is surrounded by cows, chickens, and breathtaking views that seem to stretch forever. As soon as he learns to walk and talk, Colt’s adventures begin. His first encounters are with the lively chickens, where he mimics his Papaw’s playful commands.

With each passing day, Papaw Downey introduces Colt to the wonders of farm life, from feeding the cows to tending the gardens. Colt learns that every creature on the farm has its role, even the fish that need to be fed for future fishing trips. Embracing the farming lifestyle, he dresses in button-down shirts, jeans, and his signature cowboy hat, greeting everyone with a cheerful “Howdy partner, and y’all come back now ya hear!”

As the sun sets, signaling the end of another day, Colt feels a bittersweet tug at his heart. His Papaw and Mawmaw are set to take him on one last tour of the farm, where he cherishes the sights and sounds of his beloved home. With tears held back, he bids farewell to Madison Farms. Join Colt on his heartwarming journey in The Little Farmer of Madison Farms, where every day is a new adventure filled with love and discovery.

A GLIMPSE INTO THE REAL LIFE MADISON FARMS

About THE AUTHOR

Lauren Holder is a proud Mississippi mama, wife, and lifelong writer. Inspired by the slow sweetness of Southern life, her love for storytelling began with childhood journals and deepened through years of personal growth, loss, and joy. The Little Farmer on Madison Farms is her debut children’s book — a story rooted in family, farmland, and faith. The character of Colt is based on her godson, cousin, and best friend, while Madison Farms is a very real place where childhood memories and life lessons grow like wildflowers. Lauren lives in Long Beach, Mississippi, with her husband, Peyton, their daughter BriarRose, and a second baby girl on the way. She hopes her stories remind families to slow down, savor the small things, and never outgrow wonder.
